A few big trades happened in the last couple of days. The Phillies trades Cliff Lee to the Mariners for a few prospects.  The Phillies then traded a few prospects for Roy Halliday.  Those are just the big deals that happened.

Surfing Machines

This does not have to do with baseball. The largest flowrider(surfing machine) ever will be on the newest cruise ship. There will be 2. It is on Royal Carribean's Oasis of the Seas. A 225,000 ton vesel. it will be released on November 20th with madin voyage on December 5. It has many things never seen on ships before(zipline). That is where the largest surfing machine ever will be.

Matt Holiday

Matt Holiday is one of the largest potential free-agents. He has one more negotiating period Thursday. He will probably end up in the pool. Albert Pujols won his 5th silver slugger award this year. Nothing has happened since the World Series ended.

Angels Dramatic Win

Yesterday, the Yankees lost 7-6. A e run rally in the seventh gave the Angels the lead. The Yankees left the bases loaded in the ninth almost wining. The Angels still trail 2-3. On more Yankee win puts them in the World Series. The next game is Saturday at New York with a possible game 7 Sunday.

World Series

The Phillies won yesterday, clinching the NL Champions. They beat the Dodgers 10-4 but 4-1 overall. They will be away for the World Series. The Yankees lead the Angels 3-1. The next game today could decide the AL Champion.

Phillies huge Win

Yesterday the Phillies took a 2-1 lead over the Dodgers. The Phillies won 11-0 on Cliff Lee’s superb pitching. The Yankees took a 2-0 lead over the Angels. That surprised me because of there past against the Angels.

Phillies early lead

Yesterday, the Phillies beat the Dodgers 8-6. They have a 1-0 lead now. They play them again at 4:07ET. Today the Angels play the Yankees at 7:57ET. I think the Angels will take it because of there history against the Yankees.

AL and NL CS

Yesterday the Phillies beat the Rockies. The Phillies took the series 3-1. The Phillies go to LA to face the Dodgers. The Angels head to New York to take on the Yankees. That is a preview of the NLCS and ALCS.

Teams Left

Over the weekend 3 teams were knocked out. The Yankees swept the Twins, The Angels swept the Red Sox and the Dodgers swept the Cardinals. The Cardinals lost on a 5-1 loss. There offence only produced 4 runs in the entire series. The Angels had a come from behind win to finish off the Red Sox. That was there first ALDS sweep in team history. The Phillies have a 2-1 lead over the Rockies. That is the weekend.

Standings

The Cardinals lost yesterday because of Matt Holiday’s error. They trail the Dodgers 2-0. They have to win the next 3 games to advance. The Angels lead the Red Sox 1-0 just like the Yankees lead the Twins. The Phillies and Rockies have a split 1-1 now. Those are the standings as of now.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

AL Central

Yesterday, the Twins beat the Tigers6-5 in 12 innings. Today the Phillies-Rockies play at 2:37, the Twins play the Yankees at 6:07, and the Cardinals face the Dodgers at 9:37
Albert Pujols won the NL MVP and Joe Mauer won the AL MVP. Chris Carpenter won the NL CY Young award while Zach Grenkie won the AL Cy Young award.

Tigers Twins Showdown

The Tigers play the Twins at the Metrodome today. This is game #163. Rick Porcello of the Tigers will face Sean Baker of the Twins. This one game tiebraker decides the AL Central. The game is at 5:07 et. The game will be shown on tbs.

Monday, October 5, 2009

The Postseason

Sunday the Justin Verlander won for the Tigers forcing a Twins win. The Twins won too. Both teams are tied for the AL Central lead. There will be a won game tiebreaker at the Metrodome on Tuesday. The winner will go to New York to begin the first round of the playoffs.
The Cardinals start off Wednesday at the Las Angeles Dodgers. I think the Cardinals will win having gone 5-2 against the Dodgers this Season. The Phillies start out against the Rockies. If the Rockies beat the Phillies the Cardinals will loose the NLCS. If the Phillies win the Cardinals might loose too only having beaten them once this season. I think the Phillies will beat the Rockies having dominated them all season.
The Red Sox start out against the Angels. I think the Angels will beat them in 4 games then beat the Yankees. The Yankees have always had trouble with the Angels postseason and regular season. I think the Angels will go to the World Series for the AL.

Carpenter's big Day

Yesterday the Rockies clinched the Wild Card. The Twins beat the Tigers. The Cardinals won 13-0. Chris Carpenter hit his first career home run. It ended up being a grand slam. He drove in two other runs on a double. He pitched 5 innings not allowing a run. I think he will win the Cy Young Award.

Olympics

This does not involve baseball but I thought you would want to know it. The 2016 olympics will be held in Rio De Janeiro.

New News

The AL Central is almost decided. The Tigers magic number is down to one on yesterday’s win. One Detroit win of one Minnesota loss grants the division to the Tigers. The same is true for the Rockies. There magic number is also one so it is the same as the Tigers. The Phillies clinched there division yesterday on a 10-3 win over Houston. All the other races are decided so all that is left is to wait for the postseason.
The Cardinals lost 6-1 yesterday. That makes John Smoltz 1 and 3 with the Cardinals. I do not think he will start in the postseason

Yesterday's News

Not much happened yesterday. The Phillies lowered there magic number to one. The Dodgers are on a three game loosing streak. There magic number to clinch the West is still at one. The Rockies one extending the wild card lead to three games over the Braves. The Tigers took a slit on the double header. There lead is still at 2 but the race is still close.

The Angels and NL Awards

Yesterday, the big story was about the Angels. They clinched the Al West division. At the end of the game they did a small ceremony type thing to remember Nick Adenhart. The Tigers Twins game was postponed due to rain.
It looks like Albert Pujols will win MVP. He has hit 47 home runs, 132 rbi’s, batting .328, and scored 121 times, has 181 assists, and shockingly stole 15 bases. It that doesn’t make him the most likely player to win it than nothing will.
There are 3 potentiol candidates for the NL Cy Young Award. Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright, and Tim Lincecum are the only players with a shot. Tim Lincecum I think has the least shot. He is only 14 and 7 with a 2.47 era. He has thrown 4 complete games, two of which were shutouts. I think it will be between the two Cardinal aces Adam Wainwright and Chris Carpenter. Adam Wainwright leads the league in wins with 19 but has lost 8 games. His era is 2.58 but has only thrown one complete game. Last but not least there is Chris Carpenter. He is 16 and 4. Amazingly le leads the league in era with 2.30. He has thrown only 3 complete games and one shutout. He also missed almost two months of the season. Imagine were he would be if he didn’t miss those two months.

The Weekend

The weekend was busy. The Dodgers became the second team to clinch a playoff spot. The Cardinals became the first team to clinch there division the (NL Central). They became the third team to clinch a playoff seat. Sunday the Yankees became the second team to clinch the division behind the Cardinals. The Dodgers still sit one win away from clinching the NL West. The Angels now sit with a magic number of two. The Phillies are close with a magic number of three. The Twins won on a Tiger loss shrinking the lead to two games. I think that game will come down to the series against each other starting today.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Yesterday

The Cardinals lost last night 3-0 to the Astros. The Cubs lost so there magic number fell to 1. They will probably clinch there spot on day against Colorado. The Tigers won holding the lead to 2.5. The Twins won so the Tigers did not gain much ground. There magic number fell to 9 though. The Phillies lost to the Marlins. There magic number is still sitting still at 5. The Nationals beat the Dodgers so there are still waiting to clinch to playoff. The Giants kept there Wild Card dream alive capitalizing on a Colorado loss. That is all that happened yesterday in baseball.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Current standings

As you probably know the Yankees clinched a playoff spot yesterday on there win. They are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. It could be the Wild Card if they start loosing but probably not. Yesterday the Tigers got a much needed win. The Twins won too keeping the lead to 2.5 games. There schedules are about the same. I think it will come down to the 3 game series against each other on the 28th of September to the 1st of October. The Cardinals won 10-2 lowering there magic number to 2. The giants lost on a Colorado win. It is going to be very hard for the Giants to take the wild card. There only hope is if the Cardinals sweep the Rockies. The Cardinals might take the series but probably will not sweep them.
The Phillies won one game yesterday on the double header against the Marlins. There magic number has lowered and is now at 5. The Angels lost to the New York Yankees yesterday but there magic number still stands at 5. The Dodgers crushed the Nationals 14-2. There playoff magic number stands at 2 but the west magic number sits at 7. That is where I feel the playoff stands now.

Postseason outcome

Most of the layoff races are already decided. A couple might still change though. The Cardinals have a 10 game lead. There magic number is down to 3. That means 3 Cardinal wins or 3 Cub losses or the combination guaranties them a spot in the postseason. The Yankees have a 5 game lead on the Red Sox. Even if the Red Sox’s pass the Yankees they have the Wild Card for protection. The Red Sox have a 7 game lead in the wild card which almost guarantees them to make it. The Angels have a 7.5 game lead over the rangers so the outcome will be about like the Red Sox.
The Phillies have an 8 game lead over the Braves and Marlins. There magic number should start getting small in a couple of days. The Dodgers have only a 5 game lead. They have won 7 of there last ten though. It would be hard for the Rockies to catch them. Even if they do there is the wild card protection.
The NL wild card race could still change. They are only separated by 4 games. The Rockies have a much harder schedule than the Giants. It is 4 games but a lot could change. The AL central is very close. The Tigers have the Twins by 2.5 games. The Twins have been hot while the Tigers are slumping. If the Tigers don’t start winning now this could change soon. That clearly states how the postseason will probably start.

Who will win the World Series

I see one person answered my poll. I agree with the one answer. The St. Louis Cardinals have been on a hot streak since aquiring Matt Holliday. They have the best record in baseball since he arrived in St. Louis. The Cardinals have the most likely MVP Award winner, Albert Pujols. He is the best player in the game now. 47 home runs, 127 RBI's and a .333 batting average. That is outstanding. They also have two players competing for the CY Young award. Chris Carpenter is 15 and four. His ERA is below 2.5. That is incredible. He also missed two months, imagine where he would be if he didn't. Adam Wainright is 18 and 7. He has the most wins in baseball at this point. His ERA is about 2.5 too. That is incredible. That clearly states why the Cardinals would win the World Series if it started now.

Introduction

Hey, this is FTBaseball and I have some amazing stuff to talk about. I will cover most baseball records like when Derek Jeter became the all time hits leader for the New York Yankees. I will give information on the postseason chances for the division leaders. I will talk about the poll results and why it could be any of the answers. There is much more amazing stuff but you have to read it to find out.

This is an amazing blog. You will get some information a lot faster than on other websites. During to off-season there is a lot more to talk about. It will not be the same as during the regular season though. There will be articles on trades that take place. I will give proof that steroids are ruining the game. Plus, much more that you will learn about later. For anything involving baseball come to FTBaseball.
